MIAT believes that regular and punctual attendance is important to achieve a high standard of work and students are expected to notify the school if they must be absent. Students who accumulate 20% or more of unexcused absences in any scheduled course with an academic quarter will receive an automatic failure for the course. Houston only: Students who miss 20% or more of their scheduled hours in an academic quarter will be placed on academic probation; this is calculated by totaling all absences including excused. Missing 20% or more of scheduled hours in two consecutive quarters will result in dismissal.
