CNC Machining Technology Program Objective
The objective of the Universal Technical Institute’s CNC Machining Technology program is to prepare and qualify students to work in the machining industry as entry‑level technicians.
Program Description
As a student in the Universal Technical Institute’s Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machining Technology program, you will learn how to set up and operate manual machining equipment
as well as how to set up, operate and program CNC machining equipment. Students will learn the required skills to operate safely in a machining environment, read blueprints, interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, inspect and measure parts, and perform required mathematical computations required of those in the machining industry. Students will be taught to safely operate conventional saws, grinders, drill presses, lathes and mills. In addition, students will be taught programming, setup and operation of both CNC lathes and mills. The program concludes with an introduction to CAD/CAM operations.
