Today’s diesel engines, commercial vehicles and heavy equipment systems are highly sophisticated, with advanced computer controls and electronic functions. Students will work on it all – from preventive maintenance to the latest in high tech electronics, including air brakes, hydraulics and transport refrigeration.
Program Objective
The objective of the Diesel & Industrial Technology Program is to provide students with the basic knowledge and skills to diagnose malfunctions in mechanical and electrical systems, and make necessary repairs and replacements.
This program is intended for qualified novices who want to learn the Diesel & Industrial trade or practicing technicians who want to upgrade their skills. It is designed to prepare students for entry‑level positions as service technicians in diesel engine repair facilities, medium/heavy truck repair facilities and truck dealerships; and industrial applications that include material handling, construction equipment and transport refrigeration.
