GE110-O: Intermediate Algebra

This course develops the algebraic reasoning and quantitative problem-solving skills needed for success in college and the workplace. Students apply the properties of real numbers, exponents, and radicals to simplify algebraic expressions and solve equations. Topics include linear equations, functions and graphs, systems of equations, factoring, quadratic equations, exponential functions, and logarithms. Emphasis is placed on interpreting mathematical relationships, solving problems using algebraic and graphical methods, and applying mathematical concepts to real-world and workplace situations. By strengthening analytical thinking and quantitative reasoning, students develop the mathematical skills necessary to solve problems, interpret data, and make informed decisions in both academic and professional settings.
