Utah Institutional Policy
- The Institute reserves the right to amend the terms of its Cancellation and Refund Policy in order to comply with all applicable Federal, State, accrediting body or any other regulatory agency statutes, guidelines or regulations in effect at the time an applicant cancels this agreement, or a student withdraws or is terminated from the Institute.
- Recipients of Federal Title IV grant or loan assistance withdrawn on or before completion of 60% of their current enrollment period are subject to the Federal Return of Funds Policy. This policy requires that in proportion to the period of enrollment remaining, grant or loan assistance that has been disbursed to a student and/or credited to a student’s tuition account must be returned. These refunds will be first made to the federal student aid programs in their required order. Any remaining funds will be released to the student or parent as applicable. Refunds will be made within 30 days from the date the student withdrew or the Institute determined the student should be withdrawn. Please see the Course Catalog for a copy of this policy and examples.
- Students shall be notified of their acceptance/rejection in writing. If the Enrollment Agreement is rejected by the Institute, the applicant will be notified and refunded 100% of all monies paid.
- The Enrollment Agreement may be canceled at any time before the commencement of classes, with the following conditions:
- Cancellation must be in writing by the student, parent or guardian of a minor student. The written notification must be sent to the Institute at the address indicated at the beginning of this Agreement.
- If cancellation occurs within three (3) business days after execution of this Agreement, the Student shall receive a full refund of all monies paid, less: (a) A non-refundable application/registration fee not to exceed fifty dollars ($50), if assessed; and (b) The documented cost of non-returnable materials, if applicable.
- If the Student has not visited the Institution prior to enrollment, the Student may cancel within three (3) business days following the first scheduled class session or orientation and receive a full refund, less allowable charges as stated above.
- If the Institution does not accept the Student, all monies paid shall be refunded in full.
- When a student withdraws or is terminated after the commencement of classes, whether initiated by the student or the Institute, a refund calculation will be performed:
- Students are obligated based on the enrollment periods detailed on the front of this Agreement.
- For each enrollment period the student has completed, the student is responsible for those charges in full.
- A refund calculation is performed for the enrollment period the student is in when the withdrawal or termination occurs.
- For purposes of the refund calculation, the actual last date of attendance will be used to determine the percentage of the enrollment period attended.
- Upon withdrawal after instruction has commenced, tuition shall be prorated based on the portion of the program completed as of the Student’s last date of attendance.
The percentage of tuition earned by the Institution shall be calculated as follows:
Amount Earned = Time Attended X Total Tuition
Total Program time- The Student shall be responsible only for tuition earned through the last date of attendance. Any tuition paid in excess of the earned amount shall be refunded.
- The Institution may retain only:
(a) A registration fee not to exceed fifty dollars ($50), if previously disclosed; and
(b) The actual cost of books, supplies, or equipment that have been provided and are non-returnable. - No additional administrative, withdrawal, or termination fees shall be assessed that would reduce the required prorated refund.
